What Is This?
TrackDaze TestDRIVE events were created to give enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the performance potential of their cars as easily, quickly, and inexpensively as possible in the safe environment of a closed course with a structured program run by professionals.
Where Is This?
TrackDaze TestDRIVE events take place at two different locations, and three separate tracks! The tracks are the brand-new Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, Virginia, Shenandoah Circuit and Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point Motorsports Park in Summit Point, WV. Dominion's facility is easy to reach
from many parts of the Mid-Atlantic; it is less than 1/4 mile from the I-95 corridor at exit 118 which is 10 minutes south of Fredericksburg and 30 minutes north of Richmond. Summit Point Motorsports Park is a short 40 minute drive from Leesburg, VA on Route 7. Dominion and Summit Point feature beautiful 2-mile natural terrain road courses which feature something for everyone in every kind of automobile: tight twisty sections for the more nimble sports cars, fast sweepers for the mega-grip Autobahn burners, and a long straightaways for the muscle machines! All TrackDaze TestDRIVE events feature full time supervision by a small army of road course professionals - directors, registrars & tech inspectors, classroom instructors, certified in-car instructors, control & pit road personnel, flagging & communications staff, and emergency services workers with full equipment on standby.
How Does It Work?
TrackDaze TestDRIVE events are open to all street licensed drivers aged 18 or older and feature two participation levels:
- Touring. Ready for a taste of speed on a real racetrack? Then the Touring group is just for you! These are spirited laps on the circuit for 30 minutes at a time, but with NO PASSING other cars. Sign up online and show up 30 minutes beforehand to check in, then we'll see you on pit road! Priced at $25 per car per session, do as many sessions as we have time for (typically three or four a day.) Passengers are welcome as long as they have a seat belt.
- TestDRIVE. Want to go faster and have more fun? Then our namesake TestDRIVE group is what you're looking for! This is 30 minutes on the circuit at speed with instruction and limited passing of other cars. Sign up online and show up 90 minutes beforehand for registration, technical inspection of your vehicle, and a quick safety meeting. Then we'll see you on pit road! Priced at $99 per driver per session, approved helmets required. Sign up for as many TestDRIVE sessions as we have time and space for!
With What?
TrackDaze TestDRIVE events are open to nearly any car that can pass a basic safety inspection. Everything from showroom fresh Hondas to modified vintage Ferraris are welcome. The most commonly seen cars at our events are: Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, 3-series BMWs, various Porsches, Mazda Miatas, FRS/BRZ twins, and more. Daily drivers in good mechanical condition are typically just fine for TrackDaze TestDRIVE events. So tcome join us for a few hours of fast fun!
