Valued TrackDaze Members,

First, we hope you and your friends, family members, and loved ones are weathering these tough times as well as possible.  Second, thank you for being patient as we try to work through the challenges related to running events once we are allowed to do so again.

With that said, there are positive signs on the horizon and we are confident that barring any unforeseen setbacks and dramatic changes in the next few weeks we will be able to start our season at VIR on June 20th & 21st, followed by our annual July 4th event on Summit Point Main, July 4th and 5th.  When we return to the track, the events will have to change to fit the new guidelines and restrictions put in place for social distancing.  This has dictated we rethink the way we conduct our events, for the safety of our drivers, crew, staff and track personnel. TrackDaze staff will do everything we can to reduce any risk, but to make this work many of the new safety protocols will be the responsibility of you and your fellow members. With your help, we will be able to enjoy the hobby we all love, and allow for social distancing and other guidelines set forth by the CDC, and the State governments.

These rules and protocols are set as the minimum guidelines for all TrackDaze Events and Members to meet. Participants who refuse to comply with these policies will be asked to leave the event upon first offense.

Staff & Member Social Distancing Protocols:
  • All Participants & Staff must wear a cloth mouth and nose face covering or other non-venting PPE mask when in ALL public areas such as at drivers meetings, event check-in, tech inspection, vendor areas and food lines. Drivers do not need to wear a mask or face covering while in their vehicles.
  • All participants shall practice good hygiene by washing hands or using hand sanitizer often, especially after touching frequently used items or surfaces, such as ink pens, doorknobs, fixtures, etc.
  • All participants shall continue to maintain 6 feet social distancing. Face coverings are not a substitute for physical/social distancing.
  • Outdoor meetings are strongly preferred and still require physical distancing, but if the weather is prohibitive, indoor meetings can be held under strict physical-distancing protocols, including at least 6-feet-radius spacing between non-cohabitating attendees, and continued use of face coverings. Should this not be feasible, indoor meetings are prohibited.
  • Individuals vulnerable to COVID-19 (those greater than 74 years old, and those with serious underlying medical problems such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, chronic lung disease and asthma, or immunocompromised state) should not participate in or attend events, while continuing to stay at home. Non-vulnerable participants should understand that there is a risk of bringing the virus home and should take extra caution to isolate from vulnerable individuals once back home.
  • Participants who are sick or not feeling well should not go to the event, and if found sick at the event will be required to leave.

HPDE Instruction & Classroom Changes:
  • In-car instruction is suspended until further notice.
  • Non-Solo Group will require the first session on each event day be “paced” by instructor vehicles. This “pacing” is intended to control speed for the first session, allowing Non-Solo participants to familiarize themselves with the track. Instructors will report to grid before the previous session leaves. Instructors then take evenly spaced grid spots to split the Non-Solo students as evenly as possible before they begin to arrive.
  • Remaining Non-Solo sessions will provide a lead-follow style of instruction to those who need and/or want it.
  • No Passengers allowed in any Participant Vehicles.
  • Classroom instruction will be held for Non-Solo participants and only when social distancing measures can be observed. In the event, this cannot take place smaller groups will be formed and the same instructional material given in separate locations.

Tech & Registration
  • Tech Inspection will be done with the participants staying in their vehicles and pulling up in line to avoid any gatherings at the tech area
  • Tech inspectors should wear cloth mouth and nose face covering or other non-venting PPE such as masks and latex gloves.
  • Registration will be conducted utilizing the 6 feet social distancing standards.
  • Registration Staff will wear cloth mouth and nose face covering or other non-venting PPE masks and gloves
As with everything recently, this guidance can and may change based on the best available information at the time. All reasonable attempts will be made to make accommodations to newer guidelines. We will do our best to provide all participants with the latest updates. For questions, comments, or concerns please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. TrackDaze puts on some of the safest and most professional track events I attend, but always manages to keep the fun factor alive at the same time.
